Gifts For Dad

I'm having a lot of fun making soap for my Dad!  I gave him a bar of the Pine Tar soap and he loves it!  I love it too!  I have a piece by my sink and it's the first one I reach for -  and I have a lot of soap by my sink!  This pine tar soap really calms down itchy skin.  I also had some cuts and a burn on my hand, after I started using the pine tar soap the cuts and burn healed up SO FAST!  I was really impressed.  It's also a very nicely moisturizing bar.  Your skin feels soft, but not greasy.  It's a really great bar and I think I will be making more of it!

My newest creation is the steel grey bar scented with Axe dark temptations.  This is a really nice, simple bar.  Perfect for men - smells wonderful.  It has nice clean lines and, according to my unofficial survey, that is important to guys.  They might think something like this Alice bar looks neat, but what they want is an unfussy bar that gets them clean.

The Steel Grey bar is made with goats milk and it has an amazing amount of fluffy moisturizing lather.  I really love the recipes I have developed - nice hard bars that last and last, but tons of moisturizing bubbles and lather in the bath.

Goat's Milk and Honey Soap Tutorial With A Mica Swirl

I am participating in the Great Cakes Soap Challenge for the first time - even though it is week 3 of the challenge :P

I decided to make a goat's milk and honey soap with an oatmeal, honey and milk fragrance.  And I made a video tutorial!  Don't laugh too hard LOL!  I was nervous!

The challenge part was the mica swirl and we could do whatever we wanted inside the soap.  I love this goat's milk soap!  It turned out really nice and creamy!  I included some honey in this recipe.  The honey was from my Grandpa, who was a bee keeper, so it's a very special soap :)

Keep going to see pictures of the cut soap....

Ta da!  I thought it was great!

I used coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil and castor oil.  It should have great fluffy lather and be very moisturizing.  I can't wait to try a bar!  I plan on making another one tomorrow, but it will be unscented.

They have some honey comb texture and swirly mica tops AND then I added a bee hive stamp with more mica on the front of each soap.

So creamy.....

Yum!  The scent is amazing!  Sweet and a little bit almondy.  I can't stop sniffing it LOL!

These bars will be for sale in my Etsy shop in a few weeks :)

Goats and Sheep and Snow

These are pictures I took yesterday, while visiting the chickens, sheep and goats at Carol's house.

Bo and Peep (the sheep) are talking: "Don't look at the humaaaan Peep."

Peep: "Oh, sorry Bo. Eyes forward! Humans are invisible....humans are invisible.....what human?"

"Whoa! What's that! A human? Aaaahhh! I looked at it!"

"What human?"
"They are invisible....can't see them....won't see them....."

Goat eyelash batting.
"Please may I have some more?"
Sorry, even that cute pose won't get you more food.

Aha sheep! Made 'ya look!

Goaties, Sheep and Chickens

Who lives in this cute little house?

It's a duplex!
On top live two spoiled goaties.
And on the bottom two shy sheep.

Hello sheep!

"Lemme see!"
"No, me first!"

"Is that food?"

"Yes f-o-o-d. Is it?"

"Food? Is it, huh, is it?"

"No. Boo."
Pouty goat face.

"Maybe I should taste it and make sure."
"You never know, it could be food."

"Where are you going? I was going to eat that!"

Ladies on the lam.
or
Chicks on the praire.

I like this hen - she has attitude!

I think I'll call her Decca -
"get outta her face she 'gonna decka' you"

Or not.

Ho hum, another day, another egg.

This is Cinnamon 2 Wing.
Don't bother her on the nest.
She hisses.

Wink.
These are all Carol's pets. She doesn't have names for her chickens, so I just gave them some nicknames. Hope she doesn't mind!

County Fair

I won 3 red ribbons!
For my special events, buildings and birds entries.

I wish I could figure out what the judge was looking for, so I will know what to enter next year.

The grand prize winners are in the upper left hand corner.
Not really sure why she picked them for grand prize.

The Lumberjack show!

Lots of vegetable entries.

The biggest vegetable entries.

Mom and Dad checking out the flower entries.

Check out this HUGE sunflower!

Cute goaties!

If I could, I would love to have a goat.
They are so sweet!
